HEAD OF MAN BROOCH
1/3

At the center of this brooch is a finely carved carnelian intaglio depicting the head of a Roman man, created circa 1850 in this enduring classical tradition. Its warm, amber-red ground and crisply modeled profile evoke the intimacy of ancient engraved gems while reflecting the nineteenth century’s renewed fascination with the Greco-Roman world.

Set in 14k yellow gold, the intaglio is enlivened by an elongated 11.42-carat Brazilian lagoon tourmaline baguette and 1.42 total carats of triangular or "trillion-cut" diamonds. The edgy, modern composition unites these gems in a singular contemporary, unisex jewel.
